Humanity Poem by Cassie Kuberski

Humanity

Everything has gone to hell
the day the Earth stood still
is the day the world fell
While man sat watching what they predicted would happen
children lay dying, screaming, crying
The day the Earth stood still the day the world fell
life stopped in it's tracts and time stood still
Shocked looks on every face
loved ones torn apart humanity was disraced
Build it back up
survive
adapt
learn from mistakes learn from the past
The day the Earth stood still the day the world fell
Knowledge imparted on me
the questioning power of wonder
Why when everything is wrong should we continue trying
And a voice spoke up
saying why not
Why not try for the unborn child
for the person in need
for th family to feed
for the people of now and the people of tomorrow
Who are we to say who lives and who dies
Who are we to say what the future will hold
Looking around for the voice I find
That, that small voice came from inside
The light of humanity we never let die
The Light of Humanity We all hold inside
