Humble Beginings Poem by Raymond Rivera

Humble Beginings

The young at heart
stay young at heart
their whole lives
and never
fix their eyes
on success.

I'm a grumpy
old man
who is always
reluctant to talk
yet I overflow
with personality
and greatness.

I will climb
this mountain
and look down
on all of the doubters
and haters
and spit on them.

I will stand tall
with the one I love
and I will then
become young at heart
but for now
life is business.
