Hummers Freefall Poem by Jean Dament

Hummers Freefall

I'm a tiny hummingbird fast as can be,
I fly so fast that I'm almost invisible to see,
But my brilliant colors of emerald, mauve & blue sometimes give me away;
While I spend my time out amongst the lovely blooms spinning like a wheel on any given day,
My wings propel my speedy flight;
And I hum a happy tune; while keeping my food always in sight,
My life is like a carnival ride
With my aerial acrobatics; as I like to fly upside down with pride,
I love to hover in backward motions too...never quite staying still,
Then I'm off on my journey at summer's end to fly to Mexico at will.
