Hunger Poem by Kong Yin

Hunger

A rabbit eating grass.
A fox eating rabbit.
A wolf eating fox.

After a sumptuous meal
the wolf asks a bewildered man
crouching in the shade:
What would you like to eat?

Enviously the man peers at
the wolf licking its greasy lips.
I’ve tried everything
yet I still hunger.
