Hunger Poem by Arta Krasniqi

Hunger

The sun came in
through curtains
and drew itself
on their naked bodies
she would sleep
on his back
her warm pale breasts
would press hard
against his spine
she wanted
to feel
what was left of him
and he would sleep
like a caged lion
Heavy breathing
ready to attack
she would sing him
lullabies in his ear
and he would
touch her
breakable throat
as if she was his prey
and she was
so easily defeated
he knew
he could take her down
anytime he'd feel hungry
but deep down
his raw hungry heart
he would always
choose to starve!
