Hymn 1: Crown Of Thorns Poem by Hannington Mumo

Hymn 1: Crown Of Thorns

Make me wear that crown of thorns
That adorned the Savior’s head,
I’ll forever be by wisdom lead
Till they cease the storms of fate.

Adorn me with that marvelous crown of thorns
That the Master in his mission wore
Inflict on me all known dozens of woe,
I know that time relief is nigh.

How I love to wear your crown of thorns,
The same the Redeemer with gladness chose,
Like Him I love its prick;
With it dress me quick,
And let me the eternal legacy keep!

How sweet to walk the way
The Son of Man trod in His stroll
To the eternal mansions
Where chimes my Father’s call!
