Hypocrisy's An Addiction Poem by Justin Mata

Hypocrisy's An Addiction

Rating: 5.0

Forgive me for my flaws out number my features
I've lost count of the times I've said 'it will be different this time'
A truth laced with lies spoken ever so insincerely
For sincerity is not without consequence of action

How long can I keep fooling the innocent
How far will this journey take me before I notice the dead end
A distinctive sign as brilliant as a stop light
Yet as insignificant as breathing

A constant search of approval leaves me empty and unsatisfied
Such a strong addiction, So impossible to break
I've lost all my desires, misplaced all of my morals
Accepting failure seems so much easier then admitting fault
