Inflicting the contented qualities of my façade
Conveying Machiavellian untruths it speaks masterfully
I paint my persona thru false imagery
With impressionistic style,
My form is made of a collection of lies
Close review will reveal, from afar it misguides
From afar I act as if…

I act as if the world itself has no true influence,
I myself have control above all else.

I act as if the unachievable is tangible,
Fate and destiny only observe my actions
As I fashion my own course against their very will.

I act as if…

I act as if my understanding is beyond reproach,
Wise and knowledgeable I am
Spreading philosophies and theories

I act as if I truly believe them,

I act as if…

I act as if my heart cannot be touched or tamed
Free to love when or if it chooses
And forget the love in which it loses

I act as if it was not tamed many years ago
As if I had rid my mind of her long ago
As if she is not still in my heart

I act as if…
