I Ain'T No Prodigy Child

Rating: 5.0

I ain't no prodigy child
I was born to the fierce
And the wild

My heart is kindled
A flame so bright
If you stay will me
I'll hold strong and tight

We'll sing to the wind
We'll cry to the night
I'll hold you tight
And vanquish the fright

I ain't no prodigy child
My crazy is only mild

I'm slipping away
You ask but I cannot
Say
For knowledge has
A
Price
To
Pay

I ain't no prodigy child
You looked at me and
Just smiled

Though I went crazy
You stayed with me
My memory hazy
You set me free

I ain't no prodigy child
But you showed me
The light
We sang to the
Night
And you
held me
Close
And
Forever
And
Tight

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We are not all perfect, and we don't need to be. We just need someone to hold us tight and reassure us, no matter how things may seem to change.
