Mandalie Blanc

I Am - Poem by Mandalie Blanc

Iam not the words that u speak
Iam not the image that u see
nor am i the the words that u hear
Or the things that u fear
U run n hide
Not be cuz u see fear in my eyes but be cuz of the color that I am disguised
I am not a killer
Iam not a thief
Nor am I a dealer selling weed
I wear my hoodie and I walk slow
Doesn't mean I will come after u with a knife to your throat
I am not all those words that u call me

I am black
Iam beautiful
U will try to shackle my chains
But Iam no longer a slave

I am free
I am Trayvon Martin
