Ridge Dillard

I Am - Poem by Ridge Dillard

I am all theses combined
I am ground & Sky intertwined
I am Moon & Sun
I am Muse & Son
I am Mute & Numb
I am Mamed & Stunned
Because society
Won’t let me do me
I am weary & befuddled
I am shaken & ruffled
I am on the losing end
Of a rough tussle
I am unable to defend
Against the onslaught of ideals
Why must you appeal?
I am atheist & saint
A hypocrite I ain’t
Condescend and feint
The taste of success - quaint
Like an elaborate Prank
I am aware of
I am so damn scared of
Something you should beware of
