I Am A Lullaby Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

I Am A Lullaby

Rating: 4.8

I am a lullaby,
My heart carries the melody and
The rest of me sings!
My arms are the wings,
Which give balance to my dance.
My ears hear the music of the wind.
My hands beat the rhythm of the rain.
My feet tap, glide and let me
Twirl, head high.
Watch me bend like the limbs
Of a tree, so free!
My nose delights at the scent of a rose.
My eyes see the wonders of the creator
That created me.
I am a lullaby,
My heart carries the melody and
The rest of me sings!

OH Dorothy, you have written a poem that should be everyone's theme from the time they get up, til the time they go to bed, each and every day. You have given me another reason to smile today because of this. This poem shines in the hearts of everyone who reads this, like the sun shines its warm rays on us. This poem is relaxing, and easy to read. Thank you so much for drawing me to it. Love & hugs, Barbara

Superb poem, Dorothy. Very gentle and joyful. One suggestion though - 'My nose quivers at the scent of a rose' - this doesn't sound quite right. Can I suggest 'My nose delights at the scent of a rose' or something similar? Love, Fran xx
