I Am A Strong Man Poem by David Chishimba

I Am A Strong Man

I am a strong man
I may not be well built or very handsome
I may not be the peoples favourite
But I move chin high and chest out
Because I am a strong man

Sometimes I wake up without money in my pockets or food in my house..
Not knowing where I will get the money or food from..
Sometimes I come back from my endeavours without food or money..
But I move chin high and chest out
Because I am a strong man

Sometimes I have tones of problems.
But I dont tell my family or friends half of them..
Because I know they cant bear them on their fragile backs.
Sometimes my family unknowingly adds more problems..
But I dont break..
They are not supposed to see me bleed..
I am the their symbol of hope and strength..
I work and solve them quietly..one by one..
But I move chin high and chest out
Because I am a strong man

My woman and my family are my source of strengh..
I love them with every bit of my beating heart..
I have pictures of them at the back of my head...
I always look at them when I feel like giving up..
They make me not to give up even when people would understand if I did.
But I move chin high and chest out
Because I am a strong man

Well written, sometimes strength isn't something physical or in the things that we own. I like your take on the concept of strength, its our shown in our resilience amidst our difficulties.
