I Am From Many Fascinating Places Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Am From Many Fascinating Places

I am from many neighborhoods,
Where people talk, walk, and smile like me.
I live close to Our Lady of Lourdes,
Where people pray, sing, and laugh like me.

You do not know me yet,
Quit hallucinating preconceived ideas.
What you see is not what you get,
Stop behaving like mischievous bees.

I am better than you can imagine,
I smile and laugh with everyone.
I try to live like I am in heaven,
Among the angels, and a shy queen.

I am from many fascinating places,
Where people have beautiful faces,
Where we talk, and walk with strangers,
And where we laugh with foreigners.
