I Am Me Poem by MarieLove Brevil

I Am Me

Rating: 3.0

Before you start casting stones
Before you start casting rocks
Learn to know the truth
Be patient with the victimized

Before you start condemning
Before you start pointing fingers
Look how many are already pointing at you

Pointing straight at your direction

Before you start making me upset
Before you start getting on my last nerves
Won’t you be passionate with your choice of words?
For you don’t know if I won’t take your back

Before you start watching my every move
Before you start checking on me
Trying to tell me what to do, with a to-do-list

Trying to be my God when you’re truly nothing

Before you try to take my freedom
Before you try to steal my liberty

Won’t you take away my pain if you’re truly something?
Won’t you take away my sorrow forever?

Don’t look at me that way I’m not an angry woman

Neither am I an angry chick

I’m just one of those chicks victimized by time
By other selfish people that want to take away my joy

Am I wrong for being who I am?

Am I wrong for being what I am?

So sad, none sees me as I am. They simply try
To make me what they want me to be
But I can only be what and who I am

Right about now my friends, listen
Forget the world, have the simple decency
To simply be whom and what you are.
