I Am Still Poem by Gary James Smith

I Am Still

I am Still

Thank You Lord that I am still
And know that Thou art God
God my Saviour Jesus Christ
Who in my place has stood

And all my sins yes everyone
On Him alone were laid
Nailed to the rugged cross
Then borne unto the grave

But a surprise was in store
For that old serpent sure
For Jesus was to rise again
And win the victory there

What victory was won that day
What words ' He has arisen! '
Now I'm still and know my God
Who is my 'Resurrection'

And in my heart yes in my heart
I know that wondrous feeling
That Lord Jesus lives within
It sets my soul a reeling

Peace be still and know Thy God
Give thy soul sweet rest
For sin has no dominion there
Who know His Righteousness

Saved souls sing with gratitude
Thank You Lord for this
I am still and know my God
Who wants His world to bless

Bless You Lord O bless You Lord
Who saves the sin sick soul
O be still know this God
Who makes the wounded whole

The stillness of this quietness
His Presence there with me
Resurrects the reassurance
I'm free I'm really free!

I've lost my worldly appetite
For what of earth compares
To my precious time with God
Of the which it's unaware

Be ye still and know Thy God
Know His blessed Son
Know to have thy sins forgiven
Each and everyone

In your thoughtful meditation
Think of Calvary's hill
Then with wondrous jubilation
'Peace my soul be still. '
