I Am Syrian, I Am A Human Being Too Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

I Am Syrian, I Am A Human Being Too

Rating: 5.0

I cry out loud for your help
I beg you to listen to me
I ask you to look at me
For God's sake, I am dying here

Birds of war circle my skies
Unleashing havoc on my front yard
My house painted red by the blood of my children
"Collateral damage, " they said
Releasing destruction on my neighborhood
Pronouncing me dead on my birthday

Birds of prey circle my skies
Selecting targets aimlessly
A rich menu of human flesh at their disposal
With the abundant human carcasses
They are picky in their eating habits
Plucking out eyes only
They leave behind horrible scenes

How long can we suffer like this?
How much is the price on our heads?
How big are our transgressions?
How? Why? Who? What?
Questions in my mind
As i retreat into my deathbed

Wow! Extremely powerful, intense and horrifying depiction of what is going on there. Keep writing and speaking out, this must end now. There is no reason for this carnage and destruction, no reason for killing and maiming another human being. Sins of humanity, totally evil taking innocent lives and having their way with them is wrong, morally and ethically wrong. Thank you for sharing the truth of life. RoseAnn
