I Am The Watch Of The Wall Poem by Abdul Wahab

I Am The Watch Of The Wall

Rating: 4.5

Look at me very carefully
I am fixed with a nail

On a wall, high

and I stand up
With out my legs

Crawl like a reptile

With my one hand
I catch the tail

With another
I grab the head

I put it
on my own sack
invisible

to give you
a gift
to make you
immortal

but to my utter
surprise
before I give you

it gets its wings
and slips out

along with the tide
it has gone

to the bottom
of the unknown ocean

to bring for us
a fruit
of wonderful taste
