I Ask For Poem by Kavitha Krishnamurthy

I Ask For

I ask for softness
Of the dew dipped flowers
On my parched blood sodden feet
Chiseled by the thorns of life

I ask for a caring hand
To wipe the droplets
On my moist eyes
Sprinkled by destiny

I ask for a rainfall
To create an oasis
In my arid heart
Devoid of hope
