I Bet They Say Poem by Elia Michael

I Bet They Say

I bet they say, oh no, no, not again!
He must have something better he could do
Than sit and write with his poetic pen.
How much computer ink does he get through?
I bet they say that Facebook's not the place.
I bet they think that Facebook's just for them,
But would they dare to say it to my face?
I do not think so, but they still condemn,
I bet they still condemn and shake their head
And purse their dried-up lips in opposition.
I wonder whether they have even read
As far as this, as far as this position.
I cannot help but write, it is my right
A human right, to write on Facebook's site.
