I Came To Say Hello Poem by Bull Hawking

I Came To Say Hello

Rating: 4.0

i came by your house today
i buzzed your bell
till it was well(above my head)
then i knocked and knocked
(i won't say banged)
i know you were there
i could feel you
as if we were in
deep love's embrace
cast as lovers in some play
about the sea
about fishing
about your waves
and my oar

the roar of the sea
drove us blind
for a moment

when we came to ourselves
i was alone
on a beach
thinking of you sitting
in your garden
offering me your tea
in such a delicate cup
i could not refuse

you were sitting in
your house
knowing i was banging away
and the slightest smile
appeared as you thought
briefly....i'll let him in
