I Can Do Without Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

I Can Do Without

I can do without
the lies and deceit
of a love
that was bittersweet
I can do without
you cheating and the heartache
that comes from the deception
when you know there's no affection
I can do without
the late night arguments
it becomes increasingly turbulent
i can do without
the anger and the blame
you direct towards me
when you know the pain
can be resolved
it's just that you don't want to
and it leaves me uncertain of us
where I start to fear the inevitable
when it's very clear we've grown apart
and we can't get that very thing back
there is nothing here to salvage
I can do bad all by myself
playing these cruel and heartless games
But I know it is you I can do without
