I Can Still Remember Poem by Jillian Cameron

I Can Still Remember

The smile on her face and the warmth from her fingers,
And glistening over us the summer night lingers,
And watching the stars shine above our heads,
As the cool, green grass supplies our beds.

Like it was yesterday, the memories run through my mind,
How I long to join her and leave this world behind,
I watch her close her eyes and fall asleep,
The smell of her hair…I start to weep.

It is not a grown man’s place to cry,
But these tears of mine I will not deny,
I can still see her smile and feel her laugh,
As I run my hand over the photograph.
