If you think I can save you, you’re wrong
I’ve been trying too hard for too long…
I try to see you through clouded eyes.
No more I’m sorrys it’s time for goodbyes
I know you love me, and I love you to
There’s just nothing else I can do.
You want me to be that thing that sets you free
But, honey it’s not in ME you gotta believe.
You have to look to Him for that.
Within me isn’t quite where it’s at.
I know that you want to be right.
I know it’s only yourself that you fight.
I know it’s so close you can touch it.
That poem I once wrote for her, now applies to you.
You and I both know what it is we need to do.
We need to stop fighting and avoiding the call.
Otherwise we’ll continue to be nowhere at all.
He’s callin me and I gotta respond.
I can’t be still and not move on.
I gotta let go of the past and the mistakes I’ve made.
I have to let go of the hurt and the games I’ve played.
He has a job for me to do.
And it's something only I can do.
