I Chose To Live Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

I Chose To Live

Rating: 4.0

I observed the ways of man, and feel, I never want to be there.
when you speculate of my life, I let you say what you want. you care enough to concern yourself with what I do, while I get quite the rise being the center of your universe.

you have a habit of looking at me, as if you have seen your own reflection in the mirror.
Pointing out the flaws you chose not to embrace
by projecting them onto me.

you were once a friend, as soon as I found success, you've became an enemy.

I wish to enjoy the moment without seeing the envy in your eyes.
I wish it weren't this way. but, people come, people go
and time reveals your true intentions.

Life's a beautiful thing, there's lots to smile about.
Everything I do will be exactly what I wanted to do
Keeping this chin up, head raised high
Get buzzed off the drink in my cup
Celebrating life just living it up
give myself the chance to avoid the unnecessary
and to take risks without regrets.

life is what you make it
and with mines, I took hate with a grain of salt
and decided to live amongst the dead.

I like the way these words are filled with openness a great title with some really strong lines.
