I Come Back Poem by Obed dela Cruz

I Come Back

Rating: 5.0

We were the best of friends;
We enjoy everything.
When I’m sad, You are there.
To You I always lean.

But then, I knew the world
And I saw that it is big.
After that, I have a thought
That You are never great.

Then, pride consumed my heart.
I ran away from You.
I though that who I am is
Greater than who are You.

But now, I’m very tired.
I cannot live like this.
My pride should not be high
For You have taught me good things.

My Friend, I now come back.
I want to live with You.
I miss Your teachings that
Make me know the pure truth.

I come back for I know
That pain runs away
When you are there to show
What’s good for my everyday.

My King, my Lord, my God
I desire to come back.
