I Cry For What I Cannot Have Poem by Rik Bertrand

I Cry For What I Cannot Have

I cry for what I cannot have
Yet what I cannot have,
Has made me a better man.

I cry for what I have lost in thought
My heart is torn from mourning love
I have become weak with the burden.

I love, I love, I love, and I do not Love,
Why must be dragged through the mud,
What was I thinking of, to think I could love.

My soul is will not rest, it fights.
It struggles to understand the what.
My soul wants me to have what I cannot

Oh, the love that I feel inside,
The passion, the lust for a new life.

I need to escape and grab on to this love.

This love, this deep dark passionate love
It has devoured my core, and filled me with joy.
This Love, is now my life's desire, it is my freedom.

I cry, for I have not the strength to commit,
To break free and become myself.
I cry, for I am a man in love with being loved.

REB (MARCH 2012) because it's there, I just don't have the strength to act on it.
