I'D Surely Die Poem by wild fire

I'D Surely Die

She's packing for college
She's going away from here
In her pajamas, she's gonna call it a night
but a knock at the door changes her life

He sees her standing over her suitcase
dreading that she's going away
'Can I speak with you, before you go? '
He sees her smile and fills himself with hope

She smiles a sweet smile
the one she always reserved for him
'Of course, I always have time for you'
This time however her moments were few

'You see it's like this, ' he starts
and steps toward her with smiling eyes
The he says 'It's nothing. I forgot it, nevermind.'
He turns in defeat and chastises in his mind

She smiles sweetly, but is confused
'Well, what ever it was I hope it finds you.'
She zips her suitcase and crawls into bed
watching him go, trying to figure him out in her head

He turns around and sees her tucked in
'I remember now, ' he makes his way to her
Their lips brush and he hears her sigh
'I love you.' There was a pause and he whispers 'goodbye.'

She thinks for a moment, give up her dream for his?
But college wasn't as important, and she throws aside her life
'Come back, I love you too.' She tears down the stairs
And she catches his eye and they both seem to stare

Finally he smiles, but says 'no,
You can't give up college for me
So now my dear we say goodbye'
He turns to his car with a heavy sigh

But she won't let him go,
not like this not now not ever
One last time she tries again
and her kisses get to him

'Are you sure you want to give up your dream?
For this silly one of a life together? '
He looks in her eyes and she smiles
as he holds her close and they sway awhile

'I can give it all up, it doesn't mean a thing.
You're what matters the most to me.
We can make our own dreams and sail the sky
but with out you even tho I'd persue that old dream

......I'd surely die.'
