I Did Poem by Jason Murak

I Did

Some say Im a master-mind
Way ahead of my time
I can take any single word and come out with a rhyme
By design, I thought that that'd be fine
But it was not enough
I kept having to re-arrange
and re-explain
the questions, no answers, driving me insane
I retreat to the sky, meet me in a plane
Cuz this is my after hour
Right now I work at half the power
But still twice as good as you
I use these nice words as glue
Stick it to the man, give you a clue
This poetry is my food
it feeds the soul, I need control, to feed the troll
Who's under my bridge
I close my eyelids
And I hope i dont ruin the future for my kids
And if they are faced with a challenge I hope they try it
im only where I am right now because I did
