I Do Remember Poem by Francis Kokutse

They were his words
long before he died
in the marshes near Nungua.

When you have problems
living in a strange land
the only place you can
find solace is home.

But what do you do
if after returning home
you do not get the peace
you want?

He never had the answer
to that and l have not
found an answer to that myself.

I did not find peace when l
left home to live as a stranger
neither did l get the peace
l wanted when l came back home.
