I Don't Understand.

I don't know why,
certain things are written
and others are not.

I can understand,
how the lines on sheet of paper,
reflect the scarlet lines on their wrists

and I can understand
how under-eating
indulges the ego

I can understand
trying to understand your soul
by detailing its character

But I don't know why,
you'd think,
that by smearing tears
across a computer screen,
anything will change.
