I Dreamed A Dream (Back Into The Mob) Poem by Scott McQueen

I Dreamed A Dream (Back Into The Mob)

I dreamed a dream about a girl
Whose golden hair was sent a'whirl
By walking through a light fall wind
A sight I hoped to see again

I saw a smile I knew so well
Her lips could rescue me from hell
With graceful stride, she came to me
Through her I saw divinity

Her soft laugh enchanted me
Salvation I could finally see
Was this truly just a dream?
Or was it really happening?

Alas my dream came to an end
And she became again a friend
Who I only knew through equal job
And back I go into the mob

Back into the endless crowds
Whose only purpose is to be loud
And hide her from my true emotions
She's feet away, but across oceans

Oceans of my cowardice
Rain pain upon my bloody wrists
O, how could this so quickly change
From happiness to perpetual pain
