I Envy Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

I Envy

I’ve wanted
For long time
Much too long
To be pigeon
It was when I had them
They and I are friends
I revere

Frankly I’m jealous
(No; not jealous, I envy.)
I wish that I was them.

Loyalty in couples
Married means “I’m married
In the time of my joy and solace
With my eyes and my heart and my soul, ”

One thing though
I wonder
Do they pay attention?
Do they see beauty of her eyes and eyebrows?
Don’t they miss her soft hair falling down on neck’s lines?
What about her breasts when chestnut, when walnut and lemon?

No! No! No!
Let me be what I am.
Let me be a mean man.
Let be what they call “Lunatic”
But still aware of beauty
I love leaf on the tree
I make love with dead leaf on the ground in the palm of the wind and the breeze
I cry for the sun when sheds blood when rising and setting
I dance on every wave; of the lake and the sea
I enjoy fooling me with mirage; in Kavir
Yes of course I flirt; dishonest, I am mean
But that is all because I’m aware; beauty
Generous as I am, I leave you
You remain what you are; I remain “Man in love”.
