I Feel Anew Poem by Ellen Ni Bheachain

I feel reborn,
I feel so renewed,
When one day I got up,
And my blues had gone away,

I thank God for my family,
I thank God for allowing me,
To go through the motions,
Coming out feeling triumphant and free,

So, in this new beginning I feel,
I give thanks to my Saviour,
And give thanks to my family,
That understood me,

Even when I was in such a haze,
They were there for me,
When I came out
Of those hazing and cloudy days,

It's good to be me,
I leave the blues behind,
Yet,
Keep my poems in record,
That I wrote when feeling blue,

I will put them out there with the rest,
Just like this one,
To remind me of those days,
And who was there for me,

I feel anew,
With a lot to smile about,
Thankful for my blessings,
With sunshine within,
And hazy cloudy days gone away.
