I Fell To My Knees Poem by Troy Clark

I Fell To My Knees

And I fell to my knees
Head spinning, heart racing
Crying out for my sanctuary
But denied the help that I deserve
I will not give out, I will be strong

Grasped by my nightmares
Only and forever alone
No one to be with me-
When I cope with your mocking
Can’t you see I’m already gone

And I fell to my knees
Hands shaking, eyes tearing
Crying out for my savior
And am denied my most simple wish
I will not cease, I shall be forever me

You never understood-
That what I’m looking for are the answers
To why I stand here waiting in the rain
What I’m looking for are the answers-
For why the sun shines on your horizon

And I fell to my knees
Mind fleeting, not breathing
Crying out for the impossible
But am denied my most precious gift
I will not fear, I will not doubt
All I can, and will do, is exist
