I Had A Dream Poem by Sinclair Azubuike Farrell

I Had A Dream

I had a dream
Last night
A dream in which peace, harmony & justice
Was felt by men & women
Of all races

A dream
Where nations no longer commenced wars
On other countries

A dream
In which, there was love, acceptance and cohesiveness
Between once fractured disunited communities
Poverty was a thing of the past
And the gap between the filthy rich and the dirt poor
Was no more

In my dream
I saw mothers and fathers
Hold hands in loving harmony
Working with an entire village
To help raise the children
They had created

I saw a peaceful society
Without the need for police offices, lawyers and judges
Because crime had become non existent

I had a dream
Which, left me convinced
That regardless of how bad the world is now
It will one day
Be a better place.
