I Have A Home Finally (In The Works) Poem by Scarlet .....

words of comfort and care
a sense of belonging
I have search all my life for those
I have looked everywhere around me for those
but I never found a trace of either
in all those around me
my blood
my family
my friends
not a trace
my home
my school
I was giving up hope
when I found them both
in complete strangers
and those of which
are my saviors
I searched for a place to belong
truly belong
where I can be myself
I never found it
a place where I can
be myself
and not be rejected
not be harmed
not be yelled at
but then I found it
and this is it
this is my home
this is where I meet those that shared with me words of comfort and care
how is it that people I have never meant
can fix so much
for they have given me a home
like no other
they have given me comfort
without judgment
they gave me care
without asking for things in return
they accept me
it is so strange to be accepted
for I never was by those around me
I do not understand how
but these people do
and slowly but surely I am learning to trust
I am learning to open up
its sad
for I can do it with a complete stranger
and yet those I have lived with
do not here a word
