I Have Two Faces Poem by Lily Espinosa

I Have Two Faces

I tried to sort it out,
Did what I could to make things better,
Tried to erase the past,
Forget my memories,
Fill in what we lost.

What I'd give, just to take it all back.
Instead, I've grown another face.

I know a place to be afraid,
Somewhere for me to
Grieve
Shout
Hate
Scream and Cry,
A refuge you don't need to see.

I want you to forget,
Everything you saw,
The tears,
The sorrow,
Anger and Pain.
I've found my strength,
And now you'll never have to see them again.

I have two faces,
One for you and one for me.
