I Hear From Priest Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Hear From Priest

Rating: 5.0

-He is very quiet
I listen to religious head
He is almost dead

I listen to old prayers
They are of course sooth Sayers
I want each word to be pure convener
To the heart of cruel monger

Why does the blood flow?
Why does it turn earth with red glow?
Thousands have died and many more may
O, lord show us the way

I heard some one say
He will come one day
Show us the way of salvation
Is this we want for future relation?

He came here not once or twice
Granted us land to live with peace
What did we do in the name of religion?
Blood River to flow in every region

You are condemned dear friend
This is the world ad may near the end
No remnants will be there to speak
As we have proved sinister and weak

I am moved with each word
That takes us along and forward
But what do we do the moment it is over?
Think of bloodshed and removal of shelter
