I Hear the Rain

I hear the rain
pound
on the roof
of this old house
and I feel
that the streaming tears
that keep
rolen down
my cheek
will never end
but then
when you
call me up
and I hear your voice
then everything
feels right
and I don’t
feel so alone
and I know
that I shouldn’t ever again

the rain
keeps on pounding
harder and harder yet
and my heart
beats
as hard
as the one that
I love
and the on that
loves me says
“I love you”
and all though
the rain
is still
pounding
on the roof
of this old house
a bright colored
rainbow
will come again

Poem of the Day

poet Sara Teasdale

Only in sleep I see their faces,
Children I played with when I was a child,
Louise comes back with her brown hair braided,
Annie with ringlets warm and wild.
