I Knew A Man Poem by Gert Strydom

I Knew A Man

I knew a man
who met a working girl
and with a twirl
of her head,
she entranced him
and he did not hesitate
to pay for her company.

I knew a man
who sold his bar
and bought the girl
he loved a car.
The girl married him
and when his money
was spent,
she went away.

This story
is kind of lame
as sometimes a wife,
could cost much more
than a cheap fling.
