I Know That Poem by Rachel Henley

I Know That

Rating: 2.8

The seat next to me is always free,
no one sits here,
you can borrow my favorite pen,
the one I had for my sixteenth birthday.
Tell me of why you are grounded,
copy my work and call it your own.
Tease me of my gaptooth,
any attention is good attention.
Talk about your boyfriend,
and how he is getting a new car,
of your plans to run away together,
and how you will get far.
We are just friends, I know that.
Your smile is his, I know that.
As long as I have your ear,
and a piece of your heart,
during this precious time,
then I will never cross the line.
Just don't ever leave your seat,
Just, don't, ever, leave, me.
