I Like To Watch You Unwind Poem by Minnie Gehrig

I Like To Watch You Unwind

I like to watch you unravel,
slow and soft like a ball of yarn,
Unwinding and tangled around all the furniture,
and the ankles of bored houswives,

reaching into the heavens to the subtle wrists of stewerdesses
or bringing down the paper airplanes with the sheer weight of your balled up selves,

unwind yourself then all around the world, looking for your alma,
and end up in front of your mirror,
like a beautiful tycoon,
all twised up and lonely, with a smoking jacket and a drink in your hand,

and blinking begin to gather yourself again into that tight neat ball,
the rest of the world must see.
