I'Ll Never Know Poem by Miroslava Odalovic

I'Ll Never Know

Pavement scars of too many steps
crying like a little baby
dead end corner stones
certificates of dust
the world's just a mark of a place to be
like the countries I live in
and those I only travel
the streets will make no difference at all
city dived strayed steps temporary links
arteries reaching the blood of someone else's night
like a curse stuck in the mirror broken red lipstick
lost in the hiss and sounds of cars
acting all movement inventing the bridges to stand on and talk
the roads are there to roll the rocks of heart
like pearls of white dust against a too old concrete
have I dreamt of them when the night came too close
have I touched their walls or they have touched me
through the haunting halls some sunlight to see
there was the point at which
to remove the sky meant finding the shelterless
that understood patchwork blankets only
that ate morsels of clouds served by unknown hands
and whispers were there just to seal the boxed
to deliver the sign in which everyone will talk to the sky
I'm sure of that everyone will
when the night comes close again
will I give a hand will the hand be given to me
in no city land just a touch to be
in no way no mode to re-create all wounded thoughts
with no regret
I will never know
