I Love Him Poem by Amy Edson

When he tells you it's too late
do you still hold on?
after time and space
and what feels so long
and what you feel for him is still so strong
memories still lie and you're playing old songs
and even though it's what best, it feels so wrong.

After all of this, you know you still care
you're imagining being with him
though you know he's not there
and after all that's happened
you know it's not fair.

He knows it, I told him
'I still love you'
He knows it, I told him
he knows it's true
and after all that time
then he told me we're through.
Now all of my days have been feeling so blue
and the days go so slowly
and there's only been few.

People try talk about it and I can't help but blush
I have no time to talk about it
for I am in a rush
then I see him
he begins to talk
and I tell him to hush.
