I Love You Poem by Holly Heron

I Love You

I can feel your blood as it rises to your cheeks,
I can hear your end coming with each breath you take,
And I know I have to let you go,
But I wish I didn't have to,
You know I'm going to miss you,
And I'll follow you soon after,
So I'll take you in my arms.
Just this one last time,
I want to remember each line of your face,
That twinkle in your eye,
Want to see your lips parting for my kiss,
And the feel of your hand in mine,
I just want to remember the sound of your voice,
Your laughter in the dark,
I know I have to let you go,
But in my heart I know I can't.

Your leaving me,
I love you,
And I can feel your blood,
It's slipping through my fingers,
I can hear your end coming,
With every laboured breath you take,
And I know I have to let you go,
And I know it's never going to happen,
So, please, wait for me,
I'll be following you soon,
Don't leave me in the darkness,
Don't leave me all alone.

I love you...
