I Love You, As If You Were.. Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

I Love You, As If You Were..

</>I love you as if you were the Sun,
Your structures are feverish, your hair glows,
As if snaring the Sunlight in between strands,
And from there, I am swooned over, not knowing where to stand:
Either within the bounds of your wuthering beauty,
Or to slither – to fade away like wind from the edge
Of your succinct lips
I love you as if you were the Moon,
Your face is emollient, the night tames
The tigers that rummage past my veins
And scrape them; I remain unscathed
Within your prowess, and your panache,
The flamboyance of the moon, though plain
And sordid, the somber eases like the final
Breaths of winter that coil into Autumn:
You are hope incarnate, I have my love divinely,
Infinitely, as infinite as the sky,
And I pledge to swallow you wholly like wine
In a porcelain glass, or a labyrinth where I shall lurch
Endlessly, until your face lights up amid the
Onslaughts of the darkness – you are aglow,
You are pristine, and you are a diamond.
I love you as if you were the sea,
Where the cold wind blows and is transmuted
Into humid and sultry comfort,
The symphony of your waves has an indefinite allure
That I suffer gladly; your sand, hot and passionate
With my skin, the arches and bony prominences of my feet
Are delighted – And there, I conclude
That you are the Sea,
For the sun and the moon
Meet there, to serenade each other
And so I think of you under two celestial bodies
And one, submissive piece of land and body of water,
If the waves shall crash upon me – your waves,
Let it be, I am ready.
