I Love You, Still Poem by Isabella Francis

I Love You, Still

Rating: 5.0

Blood separated from rainwater in little streams,
It gushed into my wrist as fast as a light beam.

Tears rolled back into my eyes as I got back to my feet
Rain cascaded back towards the sky, lightning withdrawing greets.

I felt the photos streaming back into my hands,
The mirror pieced itself together and on my arm it lands.

He traced his steps back and stood facing me,
He seared my eyes with unquestioned, unexplained cruelty.

A ring flew on to his left hand he waved it in front of my face,
Then he slipped it back into his right ring-finger snug and safe.

The pictures handed themselves back to him,
All of them clicked on his own free will.

Slowly his steps backed away into oblivion leaving me to unwind,
I sprang back to reality from a killing rewind.

I stood there, tears streaming down,
Watching my love fade away in this ghost town.

I fell down; oblivious to the pain,
With my soul dissolving itself in the rain.

That very moment, I made a clear decision,
I’ll take my life; his love would be the reason.

I picked up a shard of mirror and clenched my left fist,
I closed my eyes, said his name and deeply slashed my wrist.

At least he’d have a happy future life.
I whispered ‘I Love You, Still’ and closed my eyes.
