I Love You, Zoe Poem by Nicole Newton

I Love You, Zoe

Some boys are gonna' let you down,
Other boys are gonna' make you frown,
One boy is gonna' make you smile,
And he's gonna' stay awhile,
Until one day he's going to let you down,
But he's the idiot, the school boy clown.

He's an idiot, for letting you go,
He doesn't understand, he doesn't know,
And because he doesn't see, how amazing you are,
He's not the right one, my shining star.

My shining star, yes Zoe, you,
You have been my friend, since I could say ‘gaa gaa goo goo'
I love you so much, and although we fight,
I pray for you, each day and night.

I pray because you work so hard,
From you I receive a special birthday card,
And its you that strives to do your best,
And in my eyes, you beat all the rest.

You work so hard for the things you love,
You are as caring and as loyal as a pure white dove,
So whoever ends up calling you their wife,
They will never, ever, love you as much as I do,
in this crazy, hazy, life.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this last week, for my cousin, Zoe, when she broke up with a boy she really liked. They had been going out for a year+ and she was really hurt. I made this for her. I love you, Zoe.
