I'M A Butterfly Poem by Courtenay Maree

I'M A Butterfly

Been kept caught in a cucoon
Shut in a world of dark
Although one day soon
You'll be but a distant bark

I'll spread my broken wings
Fly so high and free
Of all the paining clings
That led me to be

There is a beauty even in the pain
Something so capturing
Hieghts for me to gain
A destiny so alluring

Yes a sorrow face
And a fragile being
Yet filled with grace
A new way of seeing

Soaring up alone
A creature so self-reliant
So natural even beneath the bone
Something so gently defiant

YES i'm a butterfly
Until the day i die
